The number of deaths (first five columns of the tables) should be scaled to the population in order to account for population growth or decline. The absolute population differences each year could be due to birth cohorts or migration. In the case of birth cohorts, for example, if you had a baby boom there would be big changes in the number of deaths you would expect as that population ages out. There are also changing life expectancies based on systemic improvements, the "dry tinder" effect of people living longer during peaceful or highly assisted times and of course changes in data collection/classification to account for. Substacker GeorgieDonny looks into this issue at https://georgiedonny.substack.com/p/excess-mortality-what-does-it-show . The StatCan report referred to in your presentation can be found at https://doi.org/10.25318/1310039201-eng

To wit, the second five columns (age specific mortality rate per 100K) is more important to speak about in terms of comparisons and excess deaths.

However it is indeed alarming and frankly outrageous when so many deaths are classified as unknown cause, and none of our leaders demand explanations. Enormous amounts of money and effort are put into famous peoples cases or when someone was convicted of murder but maintains their innocence. How do we know that thousands of older people werent murdered by care homes trying to cut costs, for example? Or how can pro-vaxxers claim the elephant in the room is a chimera, without evidence?

Thanks Richard, for your kind concern. I have already had cancer, survived pyelonephritis many times and urosepsis twice. I have had it all! My GP says a Covid booster shot once a year is enough. Now in Switzerland only people over 65 or at very high risk can get the Covid boosters. I had my last one in May 23. My family of six came to my place from abroad at the end of 2023. We all lived together for a month. Four caught Covid, three didn't including myself. I was in bed exhausted the same time my daughter got ill. I was only ill for four days, just exhausted. It could have been any virus, my pcr test was as usual negative. We were SO CAREFUL! GOOD MASKS , me too, AND STAYING IN THEIR ROOM WHEN ILL. It just got very tough when the two small kids got ill too. I was the only one of us seven vaccinated for Covid. I follow Dr McMillan's tips, Dr Mobeen Syed's tips, Dr Sehault's tips, all these tips are great, and all three doctors and researchers have great knowledge. I get out for fresh air as much as possible. Especially when so many at home were ill I tried to get fresh air and sunshine.I am sure this boosted me. I will see later in the year whether it is time for another shot. My GP says more than once a year is too much. She doesn't trust the Covid test results as so many Covid cases are missed. I am still alive and well despite having had a gastric obstruction last September and pyelonephritis last August. So very few people in Switzerland are now getting the shot. In many other countries too.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US.

When considering deaths in the R00-R99 category, it's important to note that adjustments are made for up to three years after release. Some deaths from this category get moved into specific causes with new releases as investigations/autopsies are completed or the provinces provide more information. This, of course, means that deaths in some other categories will increase with new releases.

For example, the first publication of the 2019 data showed deaths in this category as 8,085 (2.8% of all deaths) and it is now at 4,835 (1.7% of all deaths). By comparison, in the initial releases for 2020, 2021 and 2022 the R00-R99 category accounted for 3.5%, 3.5% and 5.8% of all deaths, respectively.

Your conclusion is correct and should be of concern to all. There are unusually high numbers of deaths without a cause assigned to them for 2021 to 2022, and particularly for 2022.

I point out this feature of the R00-R99 category so that if Statistics Canada tries to justify these high numbers by claiming they will decline over time, the claim needs to be countered with the fact that the 2022 share of "unknown" deaths is almost twice the number and twice the share of all deaths than for 2019 before revisions (8,085 vs 17,694 and 2.8% vs 5.3%).

Thank you very much, Dr McMillan for your excellent broadcast. As a lay person I do not want to write much but I will say how surprised I am at the way so many people are trying to pretend Covid is no longer a problem. When politicians act this way too it is most worrying. A very good friend of mine has a little baby who caught Covid a few weeks ago. He was the only baby under one year old who was NOT in an intensive care unit! The hospital paediatricins are wringing their hands in desperation. That is to name just one of my friends and family members who at this very moment is laid up with Covid. The baby infected his parents; another great friend of mine has just had severe Covid and my family came to stay with me on a holiday and half of them caught Covid after Christmas! They are desperately trying not to give it to me as I am a high risk 68 year old! Now that three have recovered, another one has got ill. This thing never ends! Three of us are left who might or might not catch it. We are seven here! What a life!

You might want to be more concerned about not taking any more immune-weakening shots, to lessen your risk of not only Covid, but heart damage, cancer, all manner of neurological diseases, etc.

Be careful, the bioweapon damage is cumulative... if you haven't gotten harmed by it yet, stop while you're ahead. Good luck, I hope you will remain well.
