The division is permanent. As they say out in the streets (and excuse the language), "they fucked up all kinds."
The authorities, public authorities and medical community crossed a Rubicon when they supported mandates. It's a basic axiom of natural law that humans do not like to be forced into an action against their will.
Civil society lost people who stood their ground and refused the vaccine despite mandates and are likely never to partake in the civil order as before. There's a seething anger and distrust that will at some point have to be acknowledged. But it's probably worse among those who also didn't want to take a shot but were forced into it. My cousin is one of those and he's hopping flaming angry. He compares it to being raped. He sees it as a direct human violation. What makes it even more difficult to accept is they (myself included) do not respect our 'leaders' or 'experts' at all anymore. The trust is broken. And they (let's group them all as the 'authorities') can't seem to get this through their thick, arrogant, stubborn heads.
They should all be forced into reeducation camps about human nature.
Canada is especially galling. It's run by people like that guest you had on a while ago. Absolute arrogance as they continue to peddle unsubstantiated things like masking. The Toronto Star recently mocked the conservatives for tabling a bill to ban vaccine mandates (for travel: Yes, Canada punitively and cruelly imposed a travel ban on people - the only country in the world to do so) saying he was denying how "vital mandates" are necessary. This was last week. In 2023. In Canada. And this past week, the Federal Court of Appeals (which bragged on Twitter in 2021 that its entire staff of 53 is vaccinated) dismissed a massive lawsuit challenging the mandates because there was no 'public interest' (despite a record number of people signing up to listen to the proceedings and that about six million Canadians were harmed - or 15% of the pop) and that it was 'moot' because we got our rights back. Even though the government said they only 'suspended' them. In the lawsuit, there's explosive testimony from many experts including from Health Canada saying the government had no scientific proof or evidence that the mandates were justified. It was ALL POLITICS. And yet, the effing courts refuse to let Canadians have their day in court and present the evidence. So we have a HUGE problem in Canada. Unfortunately, it will only shift if the international community does - and even then. We traffic in pseudoscience and COVIDIAN zealotry. It's a Covid gulag.
As for ethics and ethicists. They sure showed their worth, eh? Completely useless. Prominent ethicists with powerful bios like Arthur Caplan were among the most authoritarian in their support of violating human rights. This guy even said it was 'ethical' to deny Russian medical care because of the war. Let that sink in. I'll keep my fist in my mouth lest I write something I will regret about him.

Why are any of those leaders you quoted allowed to continue in office when they showed themselves to be wrong, very wrong and are responsible for the terrible adverse events experienced by many and the ongoing “died suddenly” in people ages 20-50, and those with turbo cancers. Why wouldn’t anyone who pushed these dangerous injections be guilty of serious harm? At least Jacinda stepped down. She knew she was WRONG in threatening her own people. A disgrace just like the rest of them. A disgrace.
Final orders? Why are these criminals still in office? They belong in jail. Why haven’t the majority of people pushed for criminal conviction of all those leaders who endangered the lives of their citizens? Why are people so passive?
Too many people do not properly follow current events. So the government and media, but I repeat myself (thanks Chris Plante), continue to enjoy their hegemony.
Unless I am in serious accident, I will never again see another mainstream physician. I will take my chances with alternative treatment. It is over for me, no amount of BS about mistakes made blah blah blah. The lies were too big and too harmful for far too many. Those that don't see it yet are in for more sickness and pain.
And lots of risks as well. For example, I could be dead, have myocarditis, a blood clot or cancer if I accepted their blind faith and recommendation to take the gene therapy shots. Not even a clue about the risk / benefit ratio. Talk about a lack of critical thinking skills.
The consequences are;
Zero trust in government.
Zero trust in the media.
Zero trust in health "experts".
Zero trust in the police and other security agencies.
Almost zero trust in other people.
Almost zero trust in society not to devolve into a mindless, unthinking mob.
Leave me the fuck alone and we'll get on just fine.

They were given their final orders, as they had exceeded their usefulness.

Their intention was to save lives, including their own.
Lots of value still in main stream medicine.
