In April of 2020 I was offered resignation or unpaid leave for speaking out against inadequate PPE, cleaning products, and over the counter treatments, including natural products, supplements, and vitamins. I also spoke out about administration's hiding, from staff, our patient's objective data. I had an exemplary employee record of 6 years under my belt at the time. I took the unpaid leave and eventually resigned and went to registered nursing school 4 months later. I had already declined applying to medical school. Thank God.

As a disclaimer, I didn't watch the whole discussion, but I don't think we should overstate the guilt of the public. Yes, people can be eager to discriminate, but the scary stuff was what the governments orchestrated through their partners in business, academia, etc. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law both considered me to be a tinfoil hat conspiracy theorist and a fool, but that was a small thing. What worried me was the possibility that our small business would be forced out of business (or forced to accept vaccination) if the vaccine mandates became a requirement of our liability or workers compensation insurance or the insurance of our customers. I also worried about the federal contractor mandate here in the US. Only a small number of our customers are federal, but I wondered if many of our non-federal customers had federal customers and we would somehow be caught in the net that way.
I don't care if people call me a fool or don't invite me to family gatherings. I don't blame normal people for this at all.
EDIT: I almost forgot about the lockdown. The demand for our small business's services disappeared almost overnight, and we were forced to suddenly layoff almost all our employees - people who had worked for us for 10 to 20 years and were kind of like friends. We eventually rehired most of them, but that was terrible. Government did that.

After I received the offer they expected shots. When I said I would not be able to I was suddenly treated with disdain as if I were the lowest of low all human life and they stopped communicating with me immediately. Keep in mind both of these companies were molecular diagnostic companies building products to detect cancer. It was mind boggling how they played politics over really reviewing what the data said. In hindsight it was painful, but I would do it all over again to stand for freedom and the fact that I will carry my own convictions and do not have to think like everyone else.

I get the point you're trying to make here, but perhaps a different, more neutral framing of what "my body, my choice" was about would better serve your purposes. Perhaps something like "The formerly revered principal of 'my body, my choice' vanished during the second year of the pandemic". I'm assuming you're trying to expand your audience here, rather than alienate half of it.
"How do we prevent this from happening again?" By understanding the Reality of what happened. By helping the General Public to understand the Reality of what happened - that they were subjected to a long planned, fully orchestrated program to deny them real prevention measures and real treatment measures, causing the Depraved-heart mass murder killing of millions, to establish a base of FEAR within their individual and collective consciousness whereby they could and would be forced into the "vaccine only" path, induced to and compelled to participate in their own mass shootings with fast, cheap and dirty genetic engineering injections never, ever, shown to be safe or effective.
With sars-cov-2 came the activation of the long planned bioweapon countermeasure program designed to compel this "vaccine only" path. Prevention / N95 use was ruled out, suppressed from 2013 with no further additions to "our" meager, expiring national stockpile, no provisions would be forthcoming for a resilient, in-country, N95 supply chain.

Their ready plan to suppress all real treatment and push late stage use of remdesivir and "vaccines" was put into action at the W.H.O, in Jan 2020. "The US representative at this Jan 2020 "w.h.o." meeting was, fauci stand-in, Hilary Marston - Medical Officer and Policy Advisor National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases" with a big pharma "fixer" "McKinsey & Company and .. Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation" employment background." Within days of obtaining the sars-cov-2 genetic sequence "Moderna" had made an injection that made antibodies. Contracts for warped speed mass manufacturing without quality testing requirements were let. In a "fast vaccine" discussion fauci said in 2019 testing would still be needed (at the suggestion that soon "vaccines" would be manufactured and sent directly to the public, without testing, in the form of a micro needle patch for the recipient to apply) (my note; testing would be needed for "for now" until "vaccines" are released without even farce human testing). So during the mass mis-manufacturing scale up, farce "vaccine testing" was set up to show a "safe and effective" result / "safe and effective" narrative. Timed and orchestrated to coincide with the time of the "vaccine" roll out.

Border control , free passage out, quarantine on entry. Root out any "hidden, resilient, source pockets of infection" that are "seeding". Which now says, and has been known and attempted to be noised abroad from March, 2020 - PREVENTION - pre exposure protection prior to entering "shared air" - first, low cost, simple to make at home, antiviral oral and nasal sprays and antiviral sprays or drops for eyes, then real N95 and eyeglasses, PREVENTION - post exposure prophylaxis protection including use of homemade antiviral nasal flush, antiviral oral and eye wash, antiviral sprays and antiviral nebulization, TREATMENT - available, unsuppressed free access to early treatment and prophylaxis, ready in hand to start at home upon first sign of symptoms and prophylaxis for the entire household when one person in the household develops symptoms. First, about NCI, it's one thing Canada got right. Unfortunately, it's getting exactly NO exposure in the media. Want to see if the 'experts' learned anything? Ask that Canadian doctor you had as a panellist a while ago who ruffled some of us up. I doubt he learned anything because he's the 'learned class' and the 'learned class' doesn't 'learn' very well because they don't listen. Hubris drives them more than empathy. We can't and won't move forward as a society - or civilization - unless what happened is acknowledged and discussed. A not insignificant amount of people - tens of millions - were harmed.
Moving on. I think there was a complete moral and ethical breakdown. The people that should have led us with courage chose not to. Fear and tribalism won the day. And frighteningly easily too. State-sanctioned discrimination is a bad idea. Nor should the state be weaponizing one part of the population over another. Power is an aphrodisiac.
I think so many things happened at the same time I can't possibly write it here. There was a bit of a chicken before the eggs sort of deal when it comes to why people consented. Everyone had a part to play in this medical hysteria. The irony is they say Trump exploits tribalism but he has nothing on what the state-medical-complex did (ie via behavioural science, media and mathematical models). Don't underestimate the failure of ethicists to speak out (indeed, they encouraged it all) and the profit motive either. Plenty of people cynically made money off this including cronies in government. Cui bono? indeed.
Some of us were able to see right through the propaganda, but most didn't. Worse, they still don't see it. Luigi Barzini wrote a semi-sociological book called 'The Italians' where he explored why imposters and deceivers seemed to thrive in Italy. He argued that humans like to be deceived. Dante, it's worth noting, had a place in hell for deceivers. Maybe our governments are just reflections of who we are. If so, I don't like it.
Perhaps it is time to consider starting worldwide ‘Reconciliation Hearings’ that allow those who have been harmed in ANY way, to testify publicly...and, one would hope, be a point where a civil dialogue can begin.
