So, the surge disappeared as quickly as it came. Scientifically, this is evidence that natural immunity from exposure is the best. Somewhat cynically one could say that this is the upside of zero covid policy, but in human and economic terms, this must have cost country a bomb. Not an approach for the future, but there is a lesson of science (epidemiological) to be learnt. Like Sweden, allow the infection to spread. But unlike Sweden, focus on the sick and infected with early treatments, based on related diseases and symptoms. In less than an year, the virus could have been bottled up. Like the West, China too ignored early classical treatments. It may have contained Omicron quickly, but not without the cost of immense human suffering.
If only we could trust any claim from Chinese government- the pinnacle of censorship government. As if they didn’t experience infection and death during the entire pandemic cycle. Their physicians reported/published the first hospital case series in JAMA January 2020 as I recall.
What is the evidence that Sinopharm whole virus vaccine induces immunity or reduces severe disease and death?
What is the evidence for its safety? Given the toxicity of spikes by themselves, i dont think we can assume it has the same safety profile as traditional inactivated whole virus vaccines. Furthermore, there can only be up to 1 year of data, which is far from sufficient to prove anything. Whom did they test on?
