Chinese zero covid policy gamble may work
Could China have achieved the perfect outcome through a zero covid policy and the advent of mucosal vaccines?
This was a big gamble by the Chinese leadership, however it is possible to have an impact on disease transmission if the inhaled vaccines work as well as hoped.

My instinct is that this would be more likely to be successful if the mucosal vaccines were used as the first intervention. However, if injectable vaccines have been given which stimulate upper airway immunity to a broad epitopes on the whole virus then mucosal vaccines would be just an additional stimulation.

Vaccination with spike protein based formulations are too focused to give the broad immunity required for the upper airways. China has used a whole virus injectable vaccine which may have given broader epitope selection for the upper airway.
The use of spike protein exclusive vaccines has cornered the rest of the world. The only way past may be through the pandemic. Nasal vaccines are relatively safe so there is no harm in trying.
Locking people up in their houses and starving them to death works great! Starvation and suicide have saved so many people from Covid and even more horrifying fates, like cancer and listening to a Joe Biden speech.
Zero COVID policy doesn't work ... period. Not for China. Not for anyone. Any suggestion that it might supports the violations of human right used to try to achieve what is a totally nonsensical policy anyway. How a Dr could consider writing in support of such a policy, even vaguely, beggars belief. When natural immunity is more than capable of coping and there are totally effective treatment options possible, there is no case to suggest any type of "vaccine/gene therapy" is necessary. Let's stick to the proven science.
