Scientific research is the childlike search for truth
Clinical medicine can be very humbling especially when the primary diagnosis does not respond to standard treatment. This requires an acknowledgement that initial clinical assumptions need to be reviewed and possibly a new diagnosis made. Some clinicians refuse to take that step back and it can do harm to the patient.
There was little consideration in December 2020, that we would need COVID-19 vaccine boosters within 6 months of full vaccination. Should this cause a similar reflection on our scientific understanding of COVID-19?
Based on over 18 months of our research, severe COVID-19 is a viral mediated autoimmune disease requiring strong immunosuppression to reduce mortality in severely affected people.
If our scientific leaders are unable to step back and look at alternative scientific understanding, there could be significant harm to many people.
The childlike search for truth does not stop until all avenues are explored.
