Professor Anthony Turner first identified ACE-2, entry receptor for SARS-COV2
Professor Anthony Turner and his team in Leeds UK, identified the enzyme ACE-2 in the year 2000. It represents one of the most important breakthroughs for this century. Without their efforts, it would be even more difficult to understand COVID-19.
In 2005, the same team discovered the presence of serum ACE-2 and the enzymes associated with its creation.
Very few people understand the importance of serum ACE-2 and it has not been considered important in the context of this pandemic. This is a mistake and I am determined to raise the significance of this enzyme and the link to autoimmunity in COVID-19.
Hopefully I should be able to speak with his soon and hear about his journey in research.
Will he get a Nobel Prize?
