New severe COVID-19 patients in Israel
Israel remains in front of the world because of their early vaccine program and therefore represent a reflection of what will happen in all countries globally. What are the benchmarks for a successful vaccine booster strategy?
Vaccines have been protective for up to 6 months as reflected by declining serum antibody levels. In order for ongoing benefit, serum antibody levels have to be boosted by a third dose. This has now been achieved in Israel, but did we achieve our targets?
The line in the chart is what I would have expected to see in Israel. It is not based on any statistical mapping.
Is the timeframe still too short to judge benefit?
Additionally, still awaiting data on adverse responses to the booster doses to make a proper assessment of risk/benefit.
Can vaccines be mandated without an understanding of vaccine boosters?
