The situation in China and Italy has highlighted how challenging the next few months will be for doctors across the world. There are likely to be significant numbers of unwell patients combined with limited medical resources.
Personally, the death of any patient has an effect, especially when it is unanticipated. There is a reflection on the care provided - this is normal for doctors and other caregivers.

As in the corporate world, adequate preparation and debriefing is essential so that doctors can continue to deliver care at a high level.
