With great sadness, I have to announce that my presence on LinkedIn is no longer considered appropriate. On Friday the 28th of October, my account was again restricted.
Severe COVID-19 is being treated as primarily a viral infection with some immune dysregulation. My research indicates that severe COVID-19 is primarily a viral-mediated autoimmune response that causes severe organ damage. This subtle, but critical difference means that treatment options should prioritise immune suppression rather than solely antiviral therapies. The parallel would be to treat rheumatic fever (bacterial-mediated autoimmune disease) with primarily antibiotics rather than immune-suppressing steroids.
Ironically, the recently censored post, highlighted below, was reinstated with an apology from LinkedIn, just hours before my current restriction.
LinkedIn has been an investment for me:
consistent dedication of my time over a period of 6 years during which I have succeeded in building an engaged following of almost 13,000. I have received a lot of positive feedback and engaged those with opposing opinions which is positive for scientific discourse.
original content highlighting thought-provoking research ideas about COVID-19 over the past 2 and a half years.
My LinkedIn Live interviews and conferences have brought scientific discourse to the platform through fascinating discussions and debate with scientists across the world.
Thank you for being part of my Substack.
I will continue to share valuable content about COVID-19 here.
Thanks for sharing this. Linkedin has marked itself as being on the wrong side of history along with all the other Big Tech zombies. What else would we expect from those who gave us Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Elizabeth Holmes, Larry Ellison and more? We deserve adequate public squares where we can engage in free speech. The denial of our human rights is a serious and lingering sign of the many ways in which we the people are being serially abused.
Twitter might decimate what's left of LinkedIn. LinkedIn is looking very dumb for trying to censor what is increasingly common knowledge. Not a good look.
